Spotted: Tiddles hijacks the Penguin Books cart!

If you’ve noticed the assistant librarian desk being empty this week, Book Expo America is entirely to blame. What is Book Expo America, and why did they steal your assistant librarian, you ask? Every year, hundreds of authors and publishers around the world travel to New York City to give keynotes, autograph advanced readers copies of books, and educate not only librarians, but also booksellers and other professionals about upcoming titles. Basically it’s a big ‘ol nerdfest, and Mollie, your loyal library assistant, is pleased to be at BEA to soak up all the information (and books!) that she can. Here are a few authors Mollie hopes to meet/see speak at the BEA:

  • Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
  • Holly Black (The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Coldest Girl in Cold Town)
  • Maggie Stiefvater (The Raven Cycle
  • John Scieska (Guys Read)
  • Lemony Snicket (The Series of Unfortunate Events)
  • R.L. Stine (Goosebumps, Fear Street)
  • Kate DiCamillo (The Magician’s Elephant)
  • John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska)
